idUpdate of Cube Manager

This article describes the process of update Cube Manager through HO Auto Update. 

Warning

Alert: New Auto Updater will have to be downloaded after this change, for further version update.


Note

Note: Ginesys HO Auto Update will now reflect the OLAP Version, along with database Database and Software Version, will be displayed at the bottom of the Auto Update.

    After Completion of OLAP Database configuration, you need to update OLAP Database after completing the update of Database and Software. In the Tool tab you will get Update OLAP Database button.


Tip

Note: You can see a progress bar <> in the Auto Updater after any modification in OLAP Database. 

  1. Update Ginesys HO.

  2. System will check Cube Manager is already migrated or not.
    If the Cube Manager is already migrated and If you have rights to setup Cube Manager, then Configure Cube Manager. If you do not have rights to setup, then either the Admin provides privileges of Setup app operation for Cube Manager to the currently logged in user or a person with the proper privileges needs to open the Setup and configure the same.

  3. A list view will appear in first time setup. you will get a message that version is not updated.

  4. Now update OLAP Database by clicking on Update OLAP Database button.

    1. Click on the Update OLAP Database button, OLAP Database version will be checked by the system.

      1. If the version is found to match, the following message will be displayed - “Cube Manager is already updated till latest available version.”

      2. If the version does not match (For first time update), it will check the connection for Write database for Report Data Store (Write Database) - 
        1. If it cannot connect Write database, the Report Data Store (Write Database), 
          1. The Cube Manager update will be skipped and "Version update for cube manager is not done, due to non-availability of cube server. Please update before check any cube reports." – message will be displayed.
          2. It will return to the Auto Updater. 
          3. Close the Auto Updater window.

        2. If Auto Updater can connect the Write database Report Data Store (Write Database), then the OLAP Database will updated. Last available "OLAP Version" will be displayed.
    5. If the Cube Manager is not migrated yet, then you will get a message that migration is pending, you can refresh Cube
        1. .
    6. You  will get an error message in time of setup Cube Manager. 


  7. If you get any error in time of existing Custom Logic in Cube Refresh, please log a ticket to the Ginesys Support.
