title | IMPORTANTNote: When you are migrating from previous versions, you must go through the process of deleting or uninstalling the previous GINESYS Software if you are migrating from a lower version to v11.100.0. Taking back-up and checking it is mandatory; before uninstallation of software. |
You must uninstall the previous GINESYS version from Add/Remove Programmes.
Delete the GINESYS folder structure from the drive where you have installed it.
Delete all GINESYS related schedulers from the command prompt (cmd) with the command <<sc delete <name of scheduler>>>. The list of services run in GINESYS are given below:
GINESYS Scheduler Service
GINESYS SMS Service
GINESYS Email Service
GINESYS Licensing Service
GINESYS Planning Service
Delete the previous ODAC (Oracle Data Access Components) 11g by executing the following steps:
Open Command Prompt; remember to run it as Administrator.
Locate the folder where ODAC has been installed (eg: c:\ODAC64).
Once the cursor changes, run the command c:\ODAC64 uninstall.bat all odac (Note that “odac” over here is the home name, the same name used while installing ODAC). This uninstalls all the components.
Delete the previous ODAC (Oracle Data Access Components) 10g by executing the following steps:
Uninstall all Oracle components using the Oracle Universal Installer (OUI).
Run regedit.exe and delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Oracle key. This contains registry entries for all Oracle products.
If you are running 64-bit Windows, you should also delete the HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SOFTWARE/Wow6432Node/Oracle key if it exists.
Delete any references to Oracle services left behind in the following part of the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE/SYSTEM/CurrentControlSet/Services/Ora*). It should be pretty obvious which ones relate to Oracle.
Reboot your machine.
Delete the "C:\Oracle" directory, or whatever directory is your ORACLE_BASE.
Delete the "C:\Program Files\Oracle" directory.
If you are running 64-bit Windows, you should also delete the "C:\Program Files (x86)\Oracle" directory.
Remove any Oracle-related subdirectories from the “C:\ProgramData\Microsoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs\" directory.
Empty the contents of your "C:\temp" directory.
Migrating from previous versions keeping the existing database
...
Otherwise, if the existing 10g database has to be maintained, the 10g database can exist as it is, provided the OS involved is Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008.
