Prerequisites

1. The users' role must have access to the Add app operation in the Bin Assortment feature in Inventory - WMS - Setup through Roles in Ginesys Web - Admin - Security.
   

Step-by-step guide

The steps are as follows:

1. Go to Ginesys Web - Inventory - WMS - Setup - Bin Assortment. This will open the Bin Assortment module.
   
   
2. Click on the Add button. This will open the Add Bin Assortment window.
   
   
3. Put in Assortment Name (Mandatory Field) and Description.
   
   
4. You can include and exclude assortment if items from Copy Assortment.
   
   
5. Show Items  will show all the items from Item list.
   
   
6. Select items using the three available options: They are - Select Item, Scan Item, Import Barcode, Copy Record options for Include Assortment & Exclude Assortment both.
   
   
7. You can add a Row from Add Row and delete all the records from Delete All option.

8. Once done, click on Save button.
   
   
9.  Record saved successfully. - message will be displayed on the screen.

2. Bin Assortment must be created.

Step-by-step guide

1. Go to Ginesys Web - Inventory - WMS - Setup - Bin Assortment. This will open the Bin Assortment module.
   
   
2. Select one and click on the Edit option (from the Actions menu) or double click on the record. The Edit Assortment window opens.
   
   
   
3. Here you can modify the all the fields if needed.
   
   
4. If the record became extinct record then you can mark that by the This record is extinct option which is at the bottom left of the window.
   
   
5. Once done, click on the Save button.
   
   
6. Record saved successfully. - message will be displayed.

2. Bin Assortment must be created.

Step-by-step guide

1. Go to Ginesys Web - Inventory - WMS - Setup - Bin Assortment. This will open the Bin Assortment module.
   
   
   
2. Select one and click on the Delete option from the Actions menu .
   
   
3. A confirmation window will appear with the message - Are you sure you want to delete current Record? If you want to proceed, click Yes, or else click No.
   
   
4. If you select Yes, then a message - Record deleted successfully . - will be displayed.
   
   
5. If you select No, then you will be directed back to the Bin Assortment module.

• New columns required introduced in the grid

  • Batch/Serial No.

  • Batch Valid From

  • Batch Valid upto

  • Column Details:

    • Batch/Serial No.

      • Column placed after Barcode

      • Default hidden. On selection, column to be retained in grid state.

      • Display and disable field

      • Value to get populated if populated from batch/serial window from various item selection modes.

    • ‘Batch Valid from’

      • Column placed at last after creation date to.

      • Date field to be provided.

      • Any valid date is allowed.

      • ‘Valid from’ < = ‘Valid to’

    • ‘Batch Valid to’

      • Column placed at last after valid from.

      • Date field to be provided.

      • Any valid date is allowed.

      • Batch valid to >= Batch valid from
        Note: Either both from and to is required or both could be NULL

Validation:

• Duplicate item check in grid should be has been done along with Batch number
  ”Duplicate record found.”

• Same items in multiple rows is allowed only if batch/serial details exists against respective item rows
  ”Multi rows exist for same item, batch/serial is mandatory.”

• Item and batch/serial combination must be valid
  ”Combination of item and batch/serial is invalid.”

• Scan Item

  • Behaviour of this section would be similar to Scan item → Automatic mode

    • Refer - Sales & Distribution | Transactions | [inlineExtension]SCAN ITEM (F7)

    • Following exceptions to note:

      • As existing, manual mode to remain disable.

      • No negative stock check.

      • Expiry Date check will not be validated.

      • Set Scanning is not allowed

• Behaviour on Accept/Enter

  • If item barcode is scanned:

    • If the scanned item is batch/serial applicable and single batch/serial is available in the system with respect to item scanned then auto populate the same and keep cursor on the last position.

    • Else, two Two new windows (Batch selection window & Serial selection window) will open for batch or serial applicable items respectively.

      • For batch applicable items : Follow Outbound | Batch Selection Window

      • For serial applicable items : Follow Outbound | Serial Selection Window

      • Exception pointers:

        • Window will not have qty column because qty is irrelevant in this master form

        • Qty checks to be dissolved/ignored

        • Batch/Serial selection is not mandatory, if user click on Accept in such case only icode will get populated in the main grid

        • Blank pop up window will open always

• If I code/OEM barcode + batch/serial information is scanned :

  • If invalid combination is scanned
    Error message with only OK button “Item-Batch/Serial combination does not exist”.

  • Else, auto populate the combination in the grid

• If batch/serial is scanned :

  • If batch/serial is scanned and only single product is available in it for delivery then auto populate the same and keep cursor on the last position.

  • Else, a new window (Item selection window) will open, for details follow Outbound | Item Selection Window

    • Exception pointers:

      • Window will not have qty, stock column because qty is irrelevant in this master form

      • Qty checks to be dissolved/ignored

      • Blank pop up window will open always

      • Item selection is mandatory in this window (as-is)

    • Batch/Serial selection window to display all batch no. for the respective item for which last in date <> Blank.
