Sample Testing of Promotion is to check that a promotion which has been created in HO works properly. It has to be done before the allocation to the store takes effect. This article describes how to do Sample Testing of Promotion.

Pre-requisites

  1. The users' role must have access to the Sample Testing feature by enabling Add app operation for the feature in Admin - Security - User - Role through Retail Management - Promotion - Manage.

  2. Promotions must be Created and Allocated.

  3. The Promotions must be Blocked for Sync (when you do not want to send a promotion from HO to store, you can block the sync) .

Step-by-step guide

The steps are as follows:

  1. Go to Retail Management > Promotions > Sample Testing.

  2. The Sample Testing module opens.

  3. Select the promotion type from Test on the basis of list. Select either Single Promotion or Site.

    1. If you select Single Promotion, then select the applicable promotion from the Single Promotion drop down list.

    2. If you select Site, then select the applicable site name from the drop down list, put in the Sale Date and the Sale Time.

  4. Scan the promotion applicable items. The Item's Name, Promotion, Basic Value, Discount etc will be populated automatically.

  5. You will get the description of the promotion in the Promotion Description area.

  6. You will get three color coded identifiers -

    • Benefit Item: These items get the selected promotional benefit. For example: suppose there is a promotion which offers buy two and get a bill level or memo level discount of 30%. If you select two items from the promotional buy assortment, then both the items will be marked by Light Green color as Benefit Item.

    • Incomplete Buy: The items on which the promotional benefits cannot be applicable due to promotional conditions. For example: suppose there is a promotion which offers buy two shirt and get one shirt free. If you select one shit from the promotional buy assortment, then you cannot avail the benefit from the promotional get assortment. Then that selected shirt will be marked by Sky Blue color as Incomplete Buy.

    • Benefit Missing: The items which are included in the promotion but has not been scanned in time of select item. For example: suppose there is a promotion which offers buy two shirt and get one shirt free. You scan only two shirt from the promotional buy assortment but do not scan the shirt which is from the promotional get assortment, then the items will be marked by Peach color as Benefit Missing.

  7. Click on Resolve button.
  8. You will see that the selected items will be marked by any of three color.   for Benefit Item,   for Incomplete Buy and   for Benefit Missing.

  9. You can also see the applicable promotion for the selected items.

  10. After successful Sample Testing, go to Allocation module > Action > Unblock for Sync.

  11. Sync the promotion from HO to particular store to avail the promotion.
