A repository is a facility where things can be kept for safe-keeping. The Report Repository is a place for storing all reports created for and by users. It has been observed that important reports somehow often get lost, i.e. basically cannot be found again to generate new reports. There could be multiple reasons for switching or crashing of the application server or even plain old, mishandling of actual report files. Now with the new GINESYS Reporting system - all reports will be stored in GINESYS Oracle database and users can take their backup using the DB backup utility. The system reports would be released by GINESYS from time to time, while custom reports will be designed by the user's team. Multi level security can be provided to all report folders. Centralized report repository allows complete access to any reports generated through the GINESYS  application.

The Report Repository has two sections - Repository and Configurable View.

Repository

The Repository section is where the System Reports and the Custom Reports are stored.

System Reports

After installation, when the Sync button is clicked, the System Reports are available. These are reports provided by GINESYS and are always read-only.  However, they may be duplicated and then edited. These need to assigned to users just like other reports.

Custom Reports

These are created by the users  and have to be assigned to other users who might need them.

Save Button

The Save button allows saving the changes made to the repository.

Sync
