How To: Enable the Integrated Cash Drawer in GINESYS POS

The cash drawer needs to be enabled in order to collect the paid money by the customer as well as to give him the change which is to be paid back to him. This article describes how to enable the Integrated Cash Drawer in GINESYS POS.

Pre-requisites

  1. The users' role must have access to the Terminal feature by enabling the Modify app operation for the feature in Admin - Security - Roles (Cashier etc) - Access Rights - Administration - System.
  2. POS should have Posiflex cash drawers.

Step-by-step guide

The process is divided in the following steps:

  1. Firstly, open POS in Admin mode.
  2. Then go to POS Terminals
  3. Select the terminal whose cash drawer needs to be enabled.
  4. Click on the Edit button (or double click on it). The Terminal window opens.
  5. Click on the Integrations tab.
  6. Go to Cash Drawer Settings under the Devices section.
  7. Click on the drop-down and select Posiflex option.
  8. Then click on OK.
  9. Record saved successfully - message is displayed.
  10. Log out of the system. Re-open POS by logging in again.
  11. Now open the POS module.
  12. Add items to the bill and make payment.

Important

Note: To know if the Cash drawer is enabled or not, you can go to Tasks> Open Cash Drawer. If the Open Cash Drawer option is enabled, then your cash drawer is enabled and vice-versa.
