How To: Manage the Customer through Store Control Menu in POS Back Office

It is always not possible to fill up all the details of customer in time of billing at store. For this situation manager or other employees can fill up the remaining details of customers from POS Back Office to make them loyalty customer or to inform them about promotions or to give them some special offers etc. You can also add a new customer from back office if the customer provides only first name, last name and contact number in time of billing. This article describes how to manage the customers through POS back office.

Pre-requisites

  1. On clicking on Admin - Security - Rolesthe roles are listed in the right side pane. Add a new role (Add button) or select an existent one (Edit button) and modify it. The users' role must have access to the Customer feature by enabling the Add and Modify app operations for a particular role in Access Rights (tab) - Back Office - Store Control

Step-by-step guide

The steps are as follows:

  1. Go to POS > Back Office > Store Control > Customer.
  2. Customer tab will open.

  3. Click on the Add button.
  4. Customer window will open.

  5. In the Identity tab, enter the Personal InformationStatutory Information (Pan, GST Identification Number and State) and POS Configuration (Allow Credit Sale).
  6. In the Contact Information tab, enter the address and phone numbers and whether the customer is willing to receive communications from the retailer. You can also record their preferred mode of communication.

  7. The Loyalty tab carries information to show if a customer is part of the loyal customer base of the store. The identification and discount and point details of the loyalty card are available here.

  8. Remarks tab in the Customer window can record any other details of the Customer as needed.


    Note: The Edit button in the Customers tab opens the same Customer window for modifying the selected customer's details.

    Any details of the loyalty information once saved cannot be modified.

Download Customer details:

  1. To download the details of an existing customer created either at HO or any other store, click on the Download button in the Customer module.
  2. This opens the Customer Search and Download window. The customer may be searched on the web by Card No., Mobile No. and Name like.
  3. After entering the search criteria, click on the Search button and the results of the search appears in the field below.
  4. Select any customer and edit their details or download the customer to the store's local database.


    Note: Edit opens the same window to modify details of a customer.
