5370 Modification of item in transaction module will depend on User Profile setting for the connected user

Module:

Ginesys Web - Admin - Security - User - User Profile

Enhancement Summary:

Earlier modification of item in transaction module was driven by app-operation assigned to the user role for Item Master. But to ensure that only properly authorized users can modify all properties of an item (including rate), modification of item in transaction module will now be driven by user profile setting for the connected user.

Earlier the profile Allow item editing from transaction entries was in Procurement tab, it has now been shifted to Inventory tab in the User Profile module.

5374 Now items can be modified through import Excel in transactional forms

Module:

Ginesys Web - Procurement - Operations - Goods In/Out - Receipts

Enhancement Summary:

Now updating various values for items in bulk in transactional forms by importing Excel is possible in Ginesys. If Barcode or OEM Barcode, provided in the Excel file, is already found in the item master, then the values specified in the columns mapped with Excel file will be updated.

Role permission, for such modification, will be checked in User Profile for Inventory tab: Allow item editing from transaction entries and will work accordingly as below -

If the value is Not Allowed: On click of Edit item in item grid, modification is not allowed.

The following message is displayed - Edit Item is not allowed. Please contact administrator.

If the value is Allowed (All item properties): On click of Edit item in item grid, the window for item modification opens, with selected item information getting populated.

Modification of fields values for Barcode, and Inventory item are not allowed.

Rest all field modification is allowed, validating item master working checks.

If the value is Allowed (Price change restricted): On click of Edit item in item grid, open the window for item modification, with selected item information getting populated.

Modification of Pricing information is not allowed, i.e. Standard Rate, RSP, WSP, MRP

Modification of field values for Barcode, and Inventory item are not allowed.

All other field modification is allowed within checks provided in Item master.

If Barcode is not provided and specified OEM Barcode does not exist in Item master, then new item will be created (as per User Profile option of Allow creation of New item/Barcode). 

Note: App-operation assigned to connected user role with relation to Item master will not be validated for modification of item. User not having permission in Inventory module, can modify item from transactional modules in Procurement if permission is available in the User Profile assigned to that user.

5379 Select Item feature now has a search option which will search item for a given text in combined set of parameters (Speed Search)

Wherever Select Item is used in Ginesys Web

Enhancement Summary:

When users are in a hurry, it is not always possible to search items by general parameters. The Speed Search allows for faster, more pin-pointed search.

Speed Search (Generic) will search items based on a given text in combined set of parameters i.e. Itemcode/Barcode, Category 1,2,..6, Item Name and Short Name. Speed Search (Category 1) will search items of the given text in Category 1 field value of item.

5642 Items' last inward rate can now be seen site wise in the Item master

Module:

Ginesys Web - Inventory - Product Definition - Item

Enhancement Summary:

Users  can now see the following in the Item master.

  • Site wise Last Inward Rate for an item in edit mode. It displays site wise last inward rate of all sites.
  • Last inward rate for selected items in Manage window - item grid, and there is a hyperlink which leads to a pop-up window which displays the last 5 records of the item for only organization sites.

The last inward rate will be updated from the following transactional documents:

  1. Opening Stock
  2. Goods Receive
  3. Conversion/Bundle/Split
  4. Production Receipts
  5. Miscellaneous Receipt

5637 Quantity and Rate will now be optional while importing Item barcode

Module:

Ginesys Web - Admin - Utilities - Data Import

Enhancement Summary:

A common practice in retail is to scan items into a text file and then import them in the system. While scanning, quantity and rate are not provided. After this update, items would be imported from text file containing multiple item barcodes enabling item selection from CSV/TXT file with specification of barcode only. Quantity if not mapped will get populated as per scan unit of the item and Rate if not mapped will get populated as per base document logic.
