Add Products for Billing in WebPOS

You can add products to cart using any of these methods:

Primary actions after a product has been added to cart:

Moreover, depending on a product’s unit of measurement, inventory tracking type or availability of multiple prices, you will have to make additional decisions:


Add Products by Searching Name or Barcode

You can add products to cart using the Search bar on top of the Cart page.

  1. Enter your search term in the Search box, which can either be the name of the product or barcode of the product.

  2. Products that match your search term will appear in the dropdown list below the search box.

  1. Tap on the Add button next to the product that you wish to add to cart.


Add Products by Scanning Barcode

You can add products to cart by scanning their barcodes using an external scanner.

  1. First switch the Scan Only toggle to ON, this will allow you to continuously scan multiple barcodes without triggering the Search dropdown.

  2. Point your scanner towards the printed barcode on the product, it would get added to cart. The scanned barcode will momentarily flash on the Scan bar on top of the page.

  1. If required, you can also type the product barcode in the Scan bar and press Enter to add the product to cart.

By default, weight input, price selection, batch/serial selection popups will appear on screen whenever a barcode is scanned. We recommend the use of delimiters with barcodes, and then setup webPOS settings accordingly for a more seamless scan experience, wherever applicable.


Add Products using Catalog NEW

You can also add products using the Product Catalog that lets you browse multiple products and categories at a glance. This is ideal if your business has a focused variety of products: Limited SKUs. To add products using the catalog:

  1. Tap on the Catalog button on the top-right of the Cart page to open the Catalog.

  2. Here you can see primary categories on the left side, and the products within the selected category. Simply tap on the listing of any product to add them to the cart.

  3. Use the Hide Catalog button once done to reveal the billing options panel.

Browse Catalog using Category Overview NEW

Follow these steps to navigate using product categories:

  1. Tap on the All Categories button inside the Catalog window to open the category overview.

  1. Here you will be able to see all the first level categories. Tap on any category to view all of its products, or view all of its sub-categories if available.

  1. Tap on the back icon () to go up one level, or tap the All Products button on the top-right to reset the Catalog to the default view.

If your product catalog is being synced locally on device, we recommend refreshing the catalog before you start your daily billing. To do so simply tap the Refresh button on the top-right.


Edit or Update Product Quantity in Cart

You can change quantity of any product in cart using the quantity selection dropdown in its cart listing. Additional item-level options can be accessed by tapping on the name of the cart product.

For other UOMs like weight or volume, tapping on the value will open the respective popup for modification. Continue reading to know more.


Add Products with Weight

If a product has a weight unit of measurement, you will have to enter the respective value in the popup before you can add such product to cart.

  1. Add product via scan, search or catalog.

  2. Enter the required/measured Weight value in the popup that opens.

  3. Tap on the Add to Cart button to add the product to cart.

If the same product is added again via scan, search or catalog you can use the toggle switched to Add Quantity to add the entered weight to the existing product weight in cart, or switch the toggle to Edit Cart Quantity to replace existing product weight with the entered weight.

Pro tip: If your weighing scale has label printing capabilities you can utilise PLU codes along with a delimiter to directly scan product weight.


Add Products with Batch Inventory Tracking

If a product has Batch inventory tracking and batches in-stock, you will have to select the required Batch before you can add such product to cart.

  1. Add product via scan, search or catalog.

  2. Select the required Batch in the popup that opens.

  3. Tap on the Confirm Selected button to add the product to cart.


Add Products with Serial Inventory Tracking

If a product has Serial inventory tracking and serials in-stock, you will have to select the required Serial before you can add such product to cart.

  1. Add product via scan, search or catalog.

  2. Select the required Serial in the popup that opens.

  3. Tap on the Confirm Selected button to add the product to cart.


Add Products with Multiple Prices

If a product has multiple active prices added in Zwing Console using Retail Pricebooks, you will have to select the required price before you can add such product to cart.

  1. Add product via scan, search or catalog.

  2. Select the required price in the popup that opens.

  3. Tap on the Add to Cart button to add the product to cart.
