POS License Allocation
POS License Allocation

Allocate the license to the stores
  • The license can only be allocated to the number of sites (stores) and users shown in Free Sites and Free Users.

  • The user can only update the Issued Users field and then has to run sync from both HO and POS ends.

Info

Important information

After syncing the POS License, restart the POS License Service at POS locations.

  • After sync, the Acknowledged Users count is updated automatically and until then the user cannot re-update the Issued Users field for the updated site.

    Info
    titleIMPORTANT

De-Allocate - In case the user wishes to reduce the number of POS users allocated to a site, he can reduce the number of POS users he wishes that site to have and get it acknowledged by the site through sync. The POS users freed due to such de-allocation may be re-allocated to other sites.

Surrender - Sometimes some sites may be shutdown due to many reasons. In such cases, the user may wish to surrender the license for such sites and POS users. He can make the number of POS users zero (0), get it acknowledged from the POS sites and then make the sites extinct. The GINESYS user then needs to update the license.

Info

What is a Domain?

A group of computers and devices on a network that are administered as a unit with common rules and procedures. Within the Internet, domains are defined by the IP address. All devices sharing a common part of the IP address are said to be in the same domain. Windows domains provide network administrators with a way to manage a large number of PCs and control them from one place. One or more servers — known as domain controllers — have control over the domain and the computers on it.

What is a Workgroup?

Every Windows computer, not joined to a domain server, is part of a Workgroup. A Workgroup is a group of computers on the same local network. Unlike in a domain, no computer on a Workgroup has control over any other computer — they’re all joined together as equals. A Workgroup doesn’t require a password, either.

Warning

IMPORTANT
