Allocate the license to the stores
  • The license can only be allocated to the number of sites (stores) and users shown in Free Sites and Free Users.

  • The user can only update the Issued Users field and then has to run sync from both HO and POS ends.

Important information

After syncing the POS License, restart the POS License Service at POS locations.

  • After sync, the Acknowledged Users count is updated automatically and until then the user cannot re-update the Issued Users field for the updated site.

Check Connected Users

The Connected Users tab displays the users connected at that moment and their active sessions detail -

  • At any point of time, any user can have only two windows and 1 web session open from a particular terminal

  • The Connected Users tab can be used to kill all the active sessions of a particular user or a particular session of a user.

Provide License Settings

The Settings tab provides the License Server Configuration required to communicate with the license service.

  • If server and terminals are  all in the same domain; the domain configurations become optional.

  • If server and terminals are not in same domain; then domain configurations have to be mentioned mandatorily.

IMPORTANT

The mandatory License setting parameters are the Machine Name (or IP address) and the Port (usually 9000). Along with the above information.

  • Service manager tab in the System manager tool allows the Start/Stop and Installing / Uninstalling of the GINESYS License Services

  • Once the update (whether online /offline) is done License Service must be restarted again for the changes to take effect. Please wait for 30 seconds for the updates to be operational.

Important information

What is a Domain?

A group of computers and devices on a network that are administered as a unit with common rules and procedures. Within the Internet, domains are defined by the IP address. All devices sharing a common part of the IP address are said to be in the same domain. Windows domains provide network administrators with a way to manage a large number of PCs and control them from one place. One or more servers — known as domain controllers — have control over the domain and the computers on it.

What is a Workgroup?

Every Windows computer, not joined to a domain server, is part of a Workgroup. A Workgroup is a group of computers on the same local network. Unlike in a domain, no computer on a Workgroup has control over any other computer — they’re all joined together as equals. A Workgroup doesn’t require a password, either.
