Barcode is applied to products as a means of quick identification so every item has to be barcoded before any transaction is performed with it. It is a small image of parallel black lines and white spaces . Barcode is used for purchase process in retail stores. It is also used in warehouses to track inventory, and on invoices to assist in accounting etc.
This article shows you how to print barcode label in Inventory.
Prerequisites
- The user's role must have the Add and Edit application operation enabled for Admin - Utilities - Manage - Barcode Print File through Roles in Ginesys Web - Admin - Security.
Ginesys Barcode Printing Client (WCPP app) has to be downloaded and installed to handle all your printing. You will be prompted for downloading and installing the app as soon as you try to print barcode for the first time.
- Just click on the link to download. The link appears when you click on the Print Barcode.
- In your Download folder locate wcpp-4.0.18.109 and double-click to install the app.
- You will be asked to confirm the location of installation. Select the proper location and click Next.
- Click on Next.
- Your app is successfully installed.
- Refresh your web page and you are ready to print barcodes from the web modules.
- Just click on the link to download. The link appears when you click on the Print Barcode.
Note: Now, Ginesys will not support $ based barcode printing files, so all Ginesys users working with such files need to raise a ticket in care.ginesys.in for assistance on changing the $ based barcode printing files to UPS mode barcode printing file.
Step-by-step guide
These are the steps involved:
- Go to Inventory > Product Definition > Setup > Print Barcode Label.
- A popup window will be opened.
There will be two option for price Source - i. Item Master ii. Price Control .
Last receipt date of an item Will be available from version 12.4.4 onwards.
