SYMPTOMS

An error occurs while run the POS DBackup.exe tool or Utility , The error message appears on screen as follows.

'count' must be non-negative.
Parameter name: count.

CAUSE

MSDB system Database got corrupted in POS Server. Abnormal shut down, NTFS error , Disk issue could be one of the reason for corruption.

RESOLUTION

Option 1

Repair SQL server system database MSDB using MasterDBTool.exe. The utility is located at path \GSL\GINESYSPOS .

Option 2

Re-installation of SQL server application. Ensure to stop Ginesys POS Scheduler Service and keep a copy of POS data and POS backup folder.
