"Missing operand before '/' operator." - Error message is shown on multiple scenarios
SYMPTOMS
"Missing operand before '/' operator." - Error message is shown on multiple scenarios. In other words, other symbols like '/', '#', etc appears in place of '.' at POS. The scenarios where the error appears are - in the search result of item search with barcode, the quantity field in the Payment section in POS Bill creation, or in various other utilities like GINESYS POS UPDATE, etc.
CAUSE
A probable reason for the error is that the operating system's Decimal Symbol field was replaced (from '.' to '/' or '#', etc) .
RESOLUTION
Using Windows search, search for Region & Language settings.

You can also find the Region & Language settings in the Control Panel directly.
- Under the Formats tab, click on the Additional Settings button. This opens the Customize Formats window.
- Under the Numbers tab, go to the Decimal Symbol field and type in '.' or select '.' from the drop-down.
- Click OK in the Customize Format window.
- Click OK in the Region window.
