"Terminal initial is required.Please enter terminal initial for terminals." - Error message is shown when user tries to start POS

SYMPTOMS

The user tries to start the POS software and the following error message is displayed - Terminal initial is required.Please enter terminal initial for terminals.

CAUSE

When POS module of Ginesys is operated all transactions require to record the identity of the terminal where it is being executed, so the POS software cannot be started without having the terminal initials being given in the Terminal master.

RESOLUTION

Follow the given steps to resolve this issue:

  1. Go to Ginesys POS > Administration > POS Terminals.
  2. Ensure that your role has the Edit rights for the Terminal master.
  3. Edit an existing terminal.
  4. Provide the Terminal Initials in the proper field.
  5. Save the modification - by clicking on OK.
  6. Start the POS module of Ginesys POS software.
