“VAT Ledger not defined”- Error message shown during settlement at POS

SYMPTOMS

The software displays the following message “VAT Ledger not defined”- when the user tries to do settlement at POS.

CAUSE

The probable cause for the error message to be shown to the user is that the VAT Ledger is not defined at the time of POS settlement.

RESOLUTION

A probable resolution of this issue might be achieved by following the given steps:

1. Firstly, open GINESYS Desktop in the system.
2. Go to Inventory - Product Definition - Tax Definition - Tax Rates
3. Select Region from the drop-down associated with it and click on Search.
4. Exclude the Non - taxable Group and add all the Sales Ledgers in the list under the Tax Group Column. It can be done by pressing the F2 function key and selecting the Sales Tax Ledgers.
5. Save the changes made.
