31-Oct-2017 Final Notification Before Release of Ginesys and Ginesys POS on New .NET Framework

Dear Customer,

We hope you have read our mailer dated 7^th July, 2017 and our subsequent mailer on 24th July, 2017 about upgrading some system components to the latest ones to ensure smooth upgrade to latest Ginesys and Ginesys POS versions. Please consider this mail as our final reminder to you before we release our updates on an upgraded systems platform. To avoid any disruptions in your business operations please go through this final mailer carefully and take necessary actions immediately.

IMPORTANT: Please note that this release is a breaking change and unless you update the following components, your Ginesys and Ginesys POS software will not run.

Ginesys and Ginesys POS versions that are effected (built on latest .NET framework 4.6.2)

Ginesys HO - 11.131.5
Ginesys POS - 1.131.2

System components required in Ginesys HO Server

1. Microsoft .NET framework 4.6.2
   
   This is the minimum framework version required for all future releases of Ginesys and Ginesys POS.
   
   Download the framework from this Microsoft site or from this Ginesys site.
   

   Supported Operating Systems (these versions or higher):

   Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (x64)
   Windows Server 2012 (x64)
   Windows Server 2012 R2 (x64)

   
   Operating Systems higher than these (e.g. Windows Server 2016) already contain the required or higher version of the .NET framework.
   
   
2. Crystal Reports runtime 13.0.20
   
   This is the minimum Crystal Report runtime required for all future releases of Ginesys and Ginesys POS. In case of Ginesys, this is required only in the Application Server
   
   Download the component from this location Crystal Report 13.0.20 (x64). Please note that only x64 edition should be installed on Ginesys HO Server.
   
   

System components required in Ginesys HO Terminals

1. Microsoft .NET framework 4.6.2
   
   This is the minimum framework version required for all future releases of Ginesys and Ginesys POS.
   
   Download the framework from this Microsoft site or from this Ginesys site.
   

   Supported Operating Systems (these versions or higher):
   
   

   • Windows 7 SP1 (x86 and x64)
   • Windows 8.1 (x86 and x64)
   • Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (x64)

   Operating Systems higher than these (e.g. Windows Server 2016, Windows 10) already contain the required or higher version of the .NET framework.

1. Microsoft .NET framework 4.6.2
   
   This is the minimum framework version required for all future releases of Ginesys POS.

   Supported Operating Systems (these versions or higher):

1. • Windows 7 SP1 (x86 and x64)
   • Windows 8.1 (x86 and x64)
   • Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1 (x64)
   • Windows Server 2012 (x64)
   • Windows Server 2012 R2 (x64)
   1. IMPORTANT: Windows 7 SP1 and Windows 8.1 are supported for Ginesys POS terminals only. These being desktop operating systems are not supported in Ginesys POS application servers.
