Uploading Opening balance for a General Ledger with MS-CO-OM-TS site tagging

Objective

User has General Ledger which is site applicable and he want to tag respective (MS-CO-OM-TS & Other) sites while uploading opening balance in Ginesys.

Problem Statement

Ginesys Opening balance upload do not allow MS-CO-OM-TS site to get uploaded.

Solution

Let us understand the scenario by taking a case study.

Client has a business model where he accept Security Deposit from its stores. Security Deposit - Rs. 1,00,000 Cr (For MS-CO-OM-TS - Rs. 20,000 Cr, For Other sites - Rs. 80,000 Cr)

Step 1 - Upload balance against Security Deposit ledger - Rs. 80,000/- (other than MS-CO-OM-TS wise)
Step 2 - Create a Dummy general ledger with Site applicability as No
Step 3 - Upload balance against Dummy General ledger - Rs. 20,000/-
Step 4 - Create a General Journal entry on 1st day of the year as;

Dummy General Ledger A/C Dr         Rs. 20,000
         To Security Deposit A/C       Rs. 20,000
         (MS-CO-OM-TS site wise)

Step 5 - Get the Trial balance/General ledger opening report, you will get the site wise breakup.
