Managing Report-Home


The Home page is a canvas which acts as a previewer as well as a designer for reports. The administrators can create and share some reports while others can be self created by users. Reports supplied by GINESYS will be in read-only format, those reports cannot be edited. But if any modifications are needed, then a duplicate copy can be created and required changes can be made. 



Elements of the Report Home


 


In GINESYS Web, the Report module has been added along with Procurement, Sales and Distribution, Retail Management and Admin.

The first tab, Home has the following main features:

Create a New Report (1) -

It allows the creation of multiple types of reports; clicking on the plus sign reveals 6 different report types to choose from.

Manage Folders (2)- 

Folders can be created, on the root level or as a child; the users can rename the folders or delete the folders.

Run the Selected Report (3) - 

Users can select a shared or customized report and run it.




The following options can be executed on reports selected by the user:

Edit Selected Report (A)

Opens the designer view of the selected report.

Duplicate Report (B)

Allows the user to copy the selected report; so that modifications can be made in the report.

Delete Selected Report (C)Selected report gets deleted.
Report Scheduling Options (D) 

The report is run automatically at the scheduled time and date and data gets updated and emailed to concerned person.

Export Report (E)

The report is exported in either Excel (xls), pdf, rtf and csv.

Searching Reports by name

This allows easy search for frequently required reports. 

Report Settings 

It has two options Search by Name and Include Description which is a slower version. 

Change user preferences

It allows incorporation of user preferences to the Home page, i.e. which reports will be run right at the beginning or Startup of the reports module. It also displays the reports changed by the user   as User Reports.
