How To: Set path for Image Based Report

Image based reports are easier to analyse and GINESYS offers some image based reports for which the correct path has to be set.

This article describes how to set path for an Image Based Report.

Step-by-step guide

The process is divided into the following steps:

Image Path Setting:

  1. The images need to be stored in the Images Folder in the  following path:
    <Installation drive of GINESYS>:\GSL\GINESYS12\Shared\ItemImage.>

Image Convention Setting:

  1. Go to the Inventory> Product Hierarchy.
  2. Select the Department level and edit it. Check the “Image Convention at the Department level. If it is set to ‘None’, then set it to required convention (a convention is the naming pattern of an image i.e. it could be the barcode, article name, category 1-6 and description 1-6).

Important

Note: All image files should be in .jpeg/.jpg or .png format. The restrictions for image size has been increased from 500kB to 5mB (ver. 11.140.6  onwards)

Important

Example:

Suppose we want to display the image in the report for an item with barcode T001 which belongs to the Kurti group, and has category 1 value set as 'Brand 1'.

First, we need to go to Inventory> Product Definition > Product Hierarchy.

Then edit the image convention of group (Kurti group) and set it to Category 1.

Therefore, now the image name for that particular item will be 'Brand 1.jpg'.

If the software is installed in the D:\ directory, then we have to place the image 'Brand 1.jpg' in D:\>:\GSL\GINESYS12\Shared\ItemImage.
