Improved Product Import

The Product Import feature now allows you to add and update product information from a single CSV file, making product management on Zwing Console more flexible.

To access this feature go to Products & Catalogue → Products → More Options → Import

Additionally, you can also download a sample CSV template that you can add data to, and then import the same for a hassle-free process.

Mandatory fields are highlighted.

15	category_#	Category and sub-categories of the product # represents level of the category, based on your selection while downloading the template. Category 1 is mandatory, while level 2 and more are optional.
16	hsn_code	HSN code of the product
17	tax_type	Type based on whether tax is included in or excluded from the product’s price Enter INC for inclusive or EXC for exclusive.
18	tax_cat_code	Code of the applicable Tax Category in Zwing
19	barcode_#	Barcode(s) of the product # represents number of barcodes, based on your selection while downloading the template. Barcode 1 is mandatory, while the rest are optional.
20	unit_mrp	Maximum Retail Price of the product
21	unit_rsp	Retail Selling Price of the product
22	unit_ssp	Special Selling Price of the product If you wish to add multiple prices for a product, we recommend using the Retail Pricebook feature.
23	item_attributes_name_#	Name of the common attribute(s) of the product # represents number of item attributes, based on your selection while downloading the template. Example: Country of Origin
24	item_attributes_value_#	Value or description of the common attribute(s) of the product # represents number of item attributes, based on your selection while downloading the template. Example: India
25	variant_attributes_name_#	Name of the variant attribute(s) of the product # represents number of variant attributes, based on your selection while downloading the template. Example: Color
26	variant_attributes_value_#	Value of the variant attribute(s) of the product # represents number of variant attributes, based on your selection while downloading the template. Example: Green
27	allow_tracking_inventory	Used to determine whether to track inventory for the product or not. Enter 1 or leave blank to allow inventory tracking. Enter 0 if you do not wish to track inventory for the product.
28	batch_tracking	If inventory tracking is set to on, this determines whether the product is tracked using batch numbers or not. Enter 1 to allow batch tracking. Enter 0 or leave blank if you do not wish to track inventory using batches.
29	serial_tracking	If inventory tracking is set to on, this determines whether the product is tracked using serial numbers or not. Enter 1 to allow serial tracking. Enter 0 or leave blank if you do not wish to track inventory using serial.
30	allow_negative_inventory	If inventory tracking is set to on, this determines whether the product’s inventory can be less than zero or not. Enter 1 to allow negative inventory. Enter 0 or leave blank to prevent negative inventory.
31	negative_inventory_use_policy_module	Used to determine whether policy-level negative inventory setting can overrule product-level negative inventory setting (See 30). Enter 1 to allow policy-level setting to overrule product-level setting. Enter 0 or leave blank to retain product-level setting.
32	allow_price_override	Used to determine whether Price Override is allowed on the product or not. Enter 1 to allow price override. Enter 0 or leave blank to disable price override.
33	price_override_variance_percent	If price override is set to on, determines the limit of permissible change in price. If set to 5% for a product priced ₹100.00, the override price can only be within ₹95.00 to ₹105.00
34	price_override_use_policy_module	Used to determine whether policy-level price override setting can overrule product-level negative inventory setting (See 33). Enter 1 to allow policy-level setting to overrule product-level setting. Enter 0 or leave blank to retain product-level setting.
35	allow_manual_discount	Used to determine whether Manual Discount is allowed on the product or not. Enter 1 to allow manual discount. Enter 0 or leave blank to disable manual discount.
36	manual_discount_variance	If manual discount is set to on, determines the limit of the manual discount applied on the product. If set to 5% for a product priced ₹100.00, the manual discount cannot be more than ₹5
37	manual_discount_use_policy_module	Used to determine whether policy-level manual discount setting can overrule product-level negative inventory setting (See 36). Enter 1 to allow policy-level setting to overrule product-level setting. Enter 0 or leave blank to retain product-level setting.

To use the new import utility, you have to enable the Product Bulk Import connected app on Zwing Console. Go to Settings → Connected Apps → Browse and look for the app in the Zwing Power-ups category.

How to Add New Products using CSV

While creating a CSV file for import, ensure you leave the product_code and sku_code columns empty for the product rows that you wish to create as new in Zwing.

These are internal codes generated in Zwing when a new product is created and cannot be modified. They should only be used when referencing existing products.

How to Update Existing Products using CSV

While creating a CSV file for import, fill the product_code or sku_code columns with the respective Product Code or SKU Code of any product already created in Zwing, the information of which you seek to update. If correct, any other values in the columns excluding these two will replace existing product information for the corresponding parameter.

If the Product code or SKU code values don't match any existing product, it would result in an error.

Example

On importing the above the CSV file, the following things would happen

Row 2 with Product Code 120010 and SKU Code DEF0045 will have only its Short Description and Ref SKU Code replaced with the contents of the respective columns.
Row 3 and 4 will create two new products.
Row 5 with Product Code 120013 will have only its Ref Product Code and Name replaced with contents in of the respective columns.
