POS as Normal POS
A POS (or Point Of Sale) is a place where a retail transaction is completed. At the point of sale, the merchant scans the items, calculates the amount owed by the customer, and prepare an invoice for the customer (which may be paid using cash or by card or other modes of payment), and indicates the options for the customer to make payment. To calculate the amount owed by a customer, the merchant may use various devices such as weighing scales, barcode scanners, RFID (Radio-Frequency Identification used for swiping loyalty and credit/debit cards) and VFD (Vacuum Fluorescent Display for customer information at counters).
