Tagging a Transit Site to a Replenishment site

Although replenishment could be defined as refilling, what has been used up, by supplying it againBut the complexities of retail mandate that for retail replenishment, an apt definition for replenishment would be getting products on a repetitive basis to support anticipated need. It helps prevent costly inventory overstocking. A replenishment source is a site from which another site will get its goods refilled.  Transit Via sites need to be tagged to a Replenishment Source to ensure that the better management of logistics helps in cutting costs and makes smoother deliveries possible. This article show you how to tag a replenishment site to a transit via site. To know how the tagging of a transit via site impacts the transactions from a replenishment site, click link. Prerequisites

  1. The users' role must have access to the Site feature by enabling Add app operation for the feature (Desktop POS Manager - Setup - Site) in Ginesys Web - Admin - Security - Role - Available Menu (tab).

The steps are as follows:

Note: You can display the managed sites of the OUs by ticking the checkbox (Show managed stores). By default, this checkbox remains unchecked and Available replenishment source, only shows Organization Owned sites.

  3. Click on the right arrow in the middle to move the selected site to the right pane of the window to Assigned replenishment sources with item.
  4. The Assigned replenishment sources with item pane has the many columns which can be copied from another site by clicking on Copy from another site button. Then, in the Lookup Site, select the site you wish to copy from and click on OK.
  5. The selected site will be copied.
  6. The following columns have values flowing in if they have been defined in the master - Replenishment source, Replenishment source Term, Trade GroupForm Name and Price List Name.
  7. The following columns have to be filled by the user from the respective List of Values to tag the replenishment source to the Transit Via sites-
    1. Transit Via - Click on the Organization site which will act as the transit via site for the selected Replenishment Source (Managed Site).
    2. Strictly follow Transit route - The checkbox ensures that no transactions of goods can be done without moving through the Transit Via route. If left unchecked, then any goods transaction can be made between two sites without involving the transit site, even if it was defined.
  8. Then click Save and Close to save the document.
