Sending goods to destination sites through a Transit Via site

Transit Via means transferring Goods from the Source site to the Destination site through a site in the middle. The goods are first received by a Transit Via site which is an Organization Owned site and acts like a hub. Once the goods are received at the Transit Via site it is then dispatched to the respective destination sites. Returns to replenishment sites are also made through the transit via sites. This article is all about how this process takes place and what are the documents being created during this process.

Step-by-step guide

  1. Create the Delivery Challans for the destination site.
  2. Transfer Outs would be created for the Transit Via site, the destination site would be unavailable in the look up as it has a Transit Via site tagged. But the Delivery Challan created for the destination site will, appear automatically, to be tagged to this Transfer Out for Transit Via site.
  3. The goods would be received in the Transit Via site first. So, the transit via site will have to make a Transfer In entry against the Transfer Out created by the source site.
  4. The moment the Transfer In is made, in the Transit Via site, automatically Delivery Challans would be created for the destination site.
  5. So, now Transfer Outs will be created, at the transit sites, for the destination sites using these Delivery Challans
  6. At the destination sites, the goods are received normally by creating a Transfer In(Against Transfer out).
