How To: Enable SMS notification to Customer for returned cheque through Ginesys HO?

Background

In general when a cheque is received from a customer against a sale, user creates an AR voucher for account posting and in parallel deposits the cheque to be cleared in the bank. However, if the cheque bounces or is returned, then user will have to create a reversal entry and pass on the SMS alert to the customer with certain details like bouncing charges.

For reversal entry user needs to create an AP voucher in Ginesys and mark the entry as IS REVERSAL so that SMS alert can be triggered to the customer.


Pre-requisites

  • Valid HTTP Gateway Configuration should be present in SMS Notification utility


Check list

  1. Create New Task in SMS Notification utility

  2. Mark ‘Reversal Entry’ in AP Voucher

A. Create New Task in SMS Notification utility

  1. Go to SMS Notification utility & create a new event task under Ginesys Events → Finance → Payment Made

  2. Provide unique task name

  3. Define filter option by setting up the task, as stated below

    1. Data = 'Reversal_Entry'

    2. Operator = '='

    3. Value = 'Y'

  4. Compose desired message

  5. Save the task

B. Mark ‘IS REVERSAL’ in AP Voucher

The following information is required to be captured while doing AP Voucher entry:

  1. In the sub-ledger information section, for particular Supplier/Customer/Transporter/Vendor etc. set the ‘Is Reversal' flag as 'Yes’

  2. Once the voucher is saved (posted), SMS will sent automatically on the execution of the related event.
