How To: Search a Customer in Store

The Search Customer option is used when we need to tag a customer to the bill or edit the customer details.

Steps:

To search a customer, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Customer menu (or press the shortcut key F3) and click on Search Customer option. You can also search the customer using the Search Customer option in the POS Taskpad or using the shortcut key Ctrl+1. The Search Customer window opens.

    1. Card number- You can search your customer by entering their loyalty card number. It can either be typed in manually or scanned through a RFID scanner.
    2. Mobile number - You can search your customer by using their registered phone number.
    3. Name-You can search for your customer by searching their name.

Note: You cannot search customer by Name if the Third Party Loyalty Redemption remain active.

There are 3 search fields here:Customers whose details match the search criteria are reflected in the Found Customer section.

  2. If the search criteria does not match with saved customer details, you will get a message - "No customer is found based on given criteria, do you want to add customer now?"

    1. If you click on Yes, Add Customer window will open.

    2. The given search criteria will be populated automatically in that particular field (From the version 11.137.0 onward).

    3. Then follow How To: Add Customer at the Store / POS Back Office.

You may enter more than one field to narrow down your search.

      Important

The checkbox 'Search in Web' remains ticked by default, which enables us to search the customer both in the local database and the web database (if customer is not found in the local database).

It can be un-ticked, if needed.

  3. Then click on Search button. The result will be shown in the Found Customer section.

  4. Various other actions can be executed from this window. They are - Tag, Edit and View Points.

  5. To tag the customer, click on the Tag button.

  6. To view the points gained by the customer, click on the View Points button. Points Information window opens. This is a display only window.
