Installing .NET Framework 4.6.2 and .NET Framework 3.5

.NET Framework 4.6.2 and .NET Framework 3.5 installation is one of the pre-requisites for running latest versions of GINESYS and GINESYS POS. You are requested to install the same in your systems as directed below.

Alert

It's recommended that you always install the latest updates for your operating system & do not uninstall any earlier .NET framework version before or after installation of the latest Framework.

This version of the .NET Framework runs side-by-side with the .NET Framework 3.5 SP1 and earlier versions, but performs an in-place update for the Microsoft .NET Framework 4/4.5/4.5.1/4.5.2/4.6/4.6.1. So you don’t need to separately install earlier 4 series .NET Framework versions.

You can download Microsoft .NET Framework 4.6.2 (Offline Installer) for Windows 7 SP1, Windows 8.1, Windows Server 2008 R2 SP1, Windows Server 2012 and Windows Server 2012 R2 from the below link - Common Downloads.

Scenario:

  1. If the default .Net Frameworks is 4.5.1. Then upgrading to .Net Frameworks 4.6.2 will allow Ginesys Web to run
  2. If the default .Net Frameworks is 3.5.1. Then upgrading to .Net Frameworks 4.6.2 will allow Ginesys Web to run

    1. Example: Windows 7 Enterprise SP1 64 Bit Installed .NET Framework Version by Default is 2.0 SP2, 3.0 SP2, 3.5 SP1 and can be directly updated to .NET Framework version 4.6.2.

     3. However once you upgrade to 4.6.2 then uninstall the earlier version .NET Framework like 4.5.1 - then Ginesys Web will not run (This action is strictly Not Recommended by Ginesys).

Important information

Note:
Even after properly installing .NET Framework 4.6.2 if you are still getting framework error in Ginesys Web then you can try to re-register ASP.NET by the below command once.
c:\Windows\Microsoft.NET\Framework\v4.0.30319\aspnet_regiis.exe -i
