How To: Integrate and use the Essae weighing scale (DS-515) at Ginesys Stores

In Fast Moving Consumer Goods (FMCG) stores, a weighing scale is a necessity. There are two modes for weighing the products and populating the weight in stores -

  1. Printing barcode from weighing scale machine & scanning barcode in POS module.
  2. Weighing scale directly attached to the POS and quantity picked up from machine.

Ginesys POS application can now be integrated with Essae Weighing Scale (DS-515) to provide a seamless hassle-free operation to our users and their customers. This article shows how to integrate the weighing scale at store level.

Follow the steps given below for smooth integration of the same.

Login with User ID & Password in Ginesys POS applicaio

Go for POS module.
In the Tools menu (F6), click on Terminal Device Configuration.

Configure / Select the Weighing Scale Port as connected in POS from the drop-down option as in the screen shot below. 

Click on OK for saving the configuration. 

On saving the Configuration, system will generate configuration success message. 

Important

NOTE: Apart from the above configuration, the sale factor in Item master should be defined in decimal for items which will be measured in Weighing Scale.

 Billing with the weighing scale

Once the above configuration is done, the billing process for the items sold on the basis of weight can be started.

Select the concerned item for billing in the POS grid.

Click on the Edit Quantity option. 

Now put that item in the connected Weighing Scale for measurement & click on the Weighing Scale Reader icon beside the Quantity field for measuring the weight in POS grid. 

On clicking the Weighing Scale Reader icon, automatically the weight of the item being billed is reflected in the POS grid. 

After weighing in the item, normal billing procedure will be followed for completing the billing cycle.
