POS Setup 2.0 Installation Guide
Introduction
This guide provides step-by-step instructions to install and set up the POS system successfully. Please follow the steps carefully to ensure a smooth installation process.
Pre-requisites
Before you begin the installation process, ensure that you have:
64-Bit OS
OS Version >= Windows 10
RAM >= 8GB
Internet speed >= 50 Mbps
Admin permissions to install new software on the system.
Taken backup of important data to prevent any loss during installation.
Installation Steps
Step 1: Launch the Installer
Locate the setup.bat file from the folder where POS setup files are available.
Click (Run as Admin) on the file to launch the installation window.
Already installed components will be auto-detected by the installer.
If the check for minimum system requirements fails, the installer will display an error and stop the execution process.
Step 2: Select SQL Server Installation Path
In this segment, you are required to choose the folder where you intend to install the SQL Server 2017 Express edition.
Unless there is any specific requirement, you need not change the auto-detected location.
Step 3: Select Ginesys POS Installation Path
In this segment, you are required to choose the folder where you intend to install Ginesys POS.
Unless there is any specific requirement, you need not change the auto-detected location.
Step 4: Complete the Installation
Review all the settings and ensure that everything is configured as per your requirement(s).
Click on the 'Install' button to begin the installation process.
Wait for the installation to complete. This might take a few minutes.
During the installation process, if SQL Server is already present on your system, a prompt will appear giving you the choice to either continue with the existing installation or to uninstall the current version of SQL Server manually. If you choose the Uninstall option then, you will need to execute the installer once more to facilitate a fresh installation of SQL Server 2017.
Once the installation is complete, click on the 'Close' button to exit the installer.
Post-installation Steps
Launch the POS system by clicking on the shortcut created on the desktop.
Complete the initial setup by following the on-screen instructions.
Test the system to ensure that it is functioning correctly.
