How To: Enter Closing Amount
Closing Amount refers to the amount of cash present in the cash drawer while closing the current session. Before logging out, each cashier must record the amount of cash present in the cash drawer to keep the POS transactions secure. Therefore, it is highly recommended that each cashier must enter the Closing Amount before he logs out. This article describes how to enter Closing Amount.
Closing Amount Mandatory for Session Close
Note: Without entering the Closing Amount, you cannot close a session. However, users who have the right for Close Session (Blind), can do so.
Pre-requisites
- Only the user who creates a session can enter the closing amount.
- The users' role must have access to the Enter Closing Amount feature by enabling the app operation for the feature in Admin - Security - Roles - Normal POS.
- The closing amount should be entered before closing an existing session.
Step-by-step guide
The steps are as follows:
- Open the Tasks menu (or press the F5 key).
- Click on the Enter Closing Amount option.
- Close Session Details window opens.
- Select MOP Name in the MOP Details area.
- Click on the MOP count Details.
- MOP Count Details window opens.
- Enter the Denomination, Quantity, Remarks. The Amount will be calculated and populated in the amount field.
- Click on OK.
- To close the Close Session Details window click on OK.
- "Closing amount saved successfully" - message will be displayed.
- Click on OK into the message box.
