"An abnormal shutdown has been detected for SQL Server. — Please take a full database backup to proceed." - Error message shown although there is no recent abnormal shutdown

SYMPTOMS

An abnormal shutdown has been detected for SQL Server.
— Please take a full database backup to proceed. To view the startup and shutdown histories of SQL Server please run the Database Locator and click the ‘Startup/Shutdown Log’ button.

Run Database Locator now?

- The error was showing in POS while trying to start the system although there were no recent abnormal shutdowns. 

CAUSE

One of the possible causes for the error to be displayed is a particular OS feature present in Windows 10 and Windows Server 2012.

RESOLUTION

1. Please Restart the machine in such cases to resolve the issue. Do not go for a normal shutdown and start-up. Go for a Restart.

Now there should be no issues in the starting up of the machine.
