Adding & Editing Conversion Type Master

The Conversion Type feature helps in describing the process of splitting of items and bundling of items. This form allows you to create the process and specify the type (Split / Bundle) so that you can have the particular process names in split / bundle forms. This article describes how to manage Conversion Type Master.


  Add New Conversion Type

Prerequisites

  1. The users' role must have access to the Add app operation in the Conversion Type feature in Inventory - Product Definition - Setup through Roles in Ginesys Web - Admin - Security.

  2. A Process Name which has already been used as a Conversion Type cannot be used to create a new one.

Step-by-step guide

The steps are as follows:

  1. Go to Ginesys Web > Inventory > Product Definition > Setup > Conversion Type. 

  2. This will open the Conversion Type module.

  3. Click on the Add button. This opens the Add Conversion Type window.



  4. Provide a name for the new process in the Process Name field. Provide an Alias, if needed.

    This is a mandatory field.

    A previously used Process Name cannot be used here.

  5. Select the type of conversion process it will be in the Type field from the available options. The options are - Bundle and Split.

    1. Bundle

      A bundle is a set of products, made using two or more items, that are sold together as a unit. Therefore, a need arises for creating a new set of barcodes. The bundle can be made either from new stock or existing ones. It comprises of two or more items with different barcodes.

    2. Split

      The Split Item option offers the facility of change the price of an existing item without changing the other properties of that item. A new item with a new barcode and a new RSP (Retail Sale Price) gets created from the existing item in this form.

  6. Once done, click on the Save button.

  7. Record saved successfully. - message will be displayed.

  8. Click on the Close button to close the window. A confirmation window appears with the message - Discard changes? If you want to go back to the Conversion Type module, then click Yes, otherwise click No.



  Edit Conversion Types

Prerequisites

  1. The users' role must have access to the Edit app operation in the Conversion Type feature in Inventory - Product Definition - Setup through Roles in Ginesys Web - Admin - Security.

Step-by-step guide

The steps are as follows:

  1. Go to Ginesys Web - Inventory - Product Definition - Setup - Conversion Type. This will open the Conversion Type module.

  2. Double click on the record or click on the Edit option (from the Actions menu). This opens the Edit Conversion Type window.

  3. Makes changes as required in the similar way as shown above and click Save.


    Selecting the This record is extinct box, will declare the record as Extinct.


  4. Record saved successfully. - message will be displayed.
