How To: Change value of Promotable transaction for ODP.NET in registry editor

This article describes how to change the value of Promotable Transaction for ODP.NET in the registry editor.

Pre-requisite

User must have administrator access to Windows Registry.

Steps to do

Under My Computer tree find the following path:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Oracle\ODP.NET\2.xxx.x.xx

(in case of current software the version is 4.121.2.0)

On the right hand pane, find the value Promotable Transaction.
Right click the value Promotable Transaction, select Modify.
A new Edit String window with two fields Value name and Value data opens.
Change Value data to local.
Click Ok.
