How To: Check web database connectivity from GINESYS POS

The 'web database' is the database component in GINESYS that in most cases is hosted outside the core GINESYS infrastructure for high availability and speed. The web database is a SQL Server 2008 R2 or higher versioned database which acts as a transient data store between HO and POS stores. It also stores the tables for Global Credit Notes, Customers, Loyalty Point Redemptions, Gift Voucher Redemptions. Having a high-speed and high-availability connection to the web database is important for smooth operations of GINESYS. However, often it is found that connections to the web database is not available due to:

  1. No Internet
