Module:

GINESYS Web – Inventory – Product Definition – Item Hierarchy – Item> Add

GINESYS Web – Inventory – Product Definition – Item Hierarchy – Item> Edit

GINESYS Web – Inventory – Product Definition – Item Hierarchy – Item> Manage Item

Enhancement Summary:

Prerequisites for Image Capture

Two important steps need to be executed for image capture through web browser to be possible:

  1. Convert Ginesys application URL to HTTPS
  2. Enable camera in various web browsers

Now image can be captured directly in the web browser from any connected camera at the time of item creation, modification and also from Manage Item window.

If the user has Role privileges for Add and Edit, then image capture is also allowed. Clicking on the option, opens a window displaying separate blocks for 'Camera' view and 'Preview' with a button for 'Capture'. Hotkey F2 has been provided for Capture button. Image Convention is displayed, for the selected item, as per department selected. Clicking on the Capture button or the hotkey will display the image in Preview block. Option has been provided to Zoom and view the image.

Note:

  1. User can capture image multiple times one after another, but only the last image will be saved for the item.
  2. Hovering over the item in Manage Item grid, the user can see all details of the item including image.

Image if already saved in the name of value defined in convention name then the same will be displayed in Preview block.

Image can also be tagged with item via browsing a file from another location. Image once tagged can also be removed by deleting the image from the item.

Important information

Note: Change or delete of any image from an item, may also impact other items also. All the items having same value for the image convention of which the item was modified will also reflect the change or delete of image for them. For example, if the item is defined such that Department - Party Shirts and the Image convention is defined as Category 2 and Category 2 is defined as size - then, any change in image of any one Party shirt, image of any item with Image convention defined as Category 2 and Category 2 defined as size will change.

The restrictions for image size has been increased from 500kB to 5mB.
