Adding, Editing & Deleting the Item Sets in the Inventory

You can create a set of multiple items having some similar characteristics, like color, size, material etc. for easy packaging. You can also create an single item combining more than one items. For example, you can combine one Kurti and one Dhoti Pant. Combination of these two different item will be treated as one item set and have a new barcode. 

This article describes the process of creating the Item Set in Ginesys HO. 



  Add Item Sets

Prerequisites

  1. The users' role must have access to the Add app operation in the Item Sets feature in Inventory - Product Definition - Setup - Process through Roles in Ginesys Web - Admin - Security.

Step-by-step guide

The steps are as follows:

  1. Go to Ginesys Web - Inventory - Product Definition - Setup - Item sets. The Item sets module opens.



  2. Click on the Add button. The Add Item Sets window opens.

    1. There are two sections - General Information, Item Details, Others

       General Information

  1. The default value of Set No is system generated .You can't change it.

  2. Default value for Entry Date is the present date. If you want you can change it but you can not give future date.

       Item Information

  1. Items can be selected from available options (Select, scan, Barcode).

       Others

  1. Remarks field is the user defined field (UDF).Here user can put their remarks.


       4. Once done, click on the Save button. 


      5. "Record saved successfully." - message will be displayed on the screen.


Impact of Batch/Serial functionality on ‘Inventory Management’

  • It is hidden by default.

  • On Saving, check will be applied as below:

    • Only single Inventory Management mode of items are allowed in a set.

    • If selected items belongs to more than one mode of Inventory Management options, then

      • Restrict Save

        • Message: “Items with multiple Inventory Management mode are not allowed.”

  Edit Item Sets

Prerequisites

  1. The users' role must have access to the Edit app operation in the Item Sets feature in Inventory - Product Definition - Setup - Process through Roles in Ginesys Web - Admin - Security.

Step-by-step guide

The steps are as follows:

  1. Select a process and click on the Edit option (from the Actions menu) or double click on the record. The Edit Item Sets window opens.

  2. Here you can modify the all the fields if needed except Set No field.

  3. Once done, click on the Save button.

  4. "Record saved successfully." - message will be displayed.


 Delete Item Sets

Prerequisites

  1. The users' role must have access to the Delete app operation in the Item Sets feature in Inventory - Product Definition - Setup - Process through Roles in Ginesys Web - Admin - Security.

  2. The process must be already created and not tagged in any subsequent document.

Step-by-step guide

The steps are as follows:

  1. Select a Process and click on the Delete option (from the Actions menu).

  2. A confirmation window will appear with the message - Are you sure you want to delete current Record? If you want to proceed, click Yes, or else click No.

  3. If you select Yes, then a message - Set No ... successfully deleted . - will be displayed.

  4. If you select No, then you will be directed back to the Item Set module.


 Print Barcode of Item Sets

Pre-requisites

  1. The users' role must have access to the Barcode Print app operation in the Item Sets feature in Inventory - Product Definition - Setup - Process through Roles in Ginesys Web - Admin - Security.

  2. Ginesys Barcode Printing Client (WCPP app) has to be downloaded and installed to handle the barcode printing.

  3. The barcode printer must be connected and operational. 

Step-by-step guide

The steps are as follows:

  1. Select a Process and click on the Print Barcode option (from the Actions menu).

  2. A Barcode Print window opens.

  3. Select the appropriate printer from the drop-down.

  4. Now select the type of barcode configuration you need – Standard is for already saved configurations and Custom for customized configuration.

  5. Name / Config. File – If the user selects Standard in Step 4, the prompt for this field says Config. Name and the user has to select a pre-set barcode configuration from the LOV.

          But, if the user selects Custom in Step 4, the prompt for this field says Config. File and the user has to browse the system and select a customized barcode configuration for the particular instance.

       9. Print Quantity – This has two numeric fields and has to be provided. Zero (0) and negative value is not allowed.

     10. Now you can either select Test Print or Print to file or Print. Checking the output of the configuration file can now be done via Test Print by printing the barcodes on labels with parameter name. Print to File would generate a text (.txt) file in Notepad with actual printing values of the parameters.
