How to: Adjust a Redemption Token in GINESYS POS
When a customer wants to redeem points accumulated on his Loyalty Card, it is done using a Redemption Token. This article describes how to use a Redemption Token.
Alert
Note: Unlike a Gift Voucher or a Credit Note, a Redemption Token is a virtual MOP, completely in the system. It has no physical existence.
But it can be used while billing at the POS, making a deposit or even at the time of refund.
Note: Suppose a customer buy some items from a store without loyalty benefit. After buying he gets some loyalty benefit like loyalty discount. If he wants to make a Adhoc Return (without bill)Â of that item, he will get the credit note of discounted amount of the items based on his loyalty discount rather than the buying amount.
Pre-requisites
- Â Only a card with valid loyalty points can be used to redeem points.
- Redemption Token, as a mode of payment, needs to be assigned to the POS. This is not user based, but a site based permission.
- Redemption is always made against a bill.
Step-by-step guide
The process is divided into the following steps:
While making Payment, select the Redemption Token option.
Click on the Redeem button. The Redeem Loyalty Points window opens.
Alert
Note: The Redeem button, Add Token button, Remove Token button and Adjust Token button will be enabled only for customers with valid Loyalty Point based cards.
Otherwise they will remain disabled.
- The details of the cards in the Card Information Section will be shown.
- Now enter either the points or the amount you want to redeem in the Redeem field in the Points to redeem section and press Enter.
- Then click on the Redeem and Adjust token in Current Bill button.
- Click on Give Refund & Save button for Refund / Save the Bill button for POS Bill / Issue Credit Note & Save button for Take Deposit.
- If you create a redemption token but don't save the bill, the redemption token remains saved in the database. You can use it later in the following process:Â
- Click on the Redemption Token option.Â
- Then click on Adjust token button. The Select Redemption token window opens.
- Select the required (previously created) token and click on Select button.
- Click on Give Refund & Save button for Refund / Save the Bill button for POS Bill / Issue Credit Note & Save button for Take Deposit.
