How To: Take payment using a Credit Note



Credit Notes are created against deposits or a return of an item by the customer. These are adjusted when a customer buys a product and wants to use his previously issued Credit Notes against his purchase.

Pre-requisites

  1. Document Numbering Scheme for Credit Notes must be present.

  2. Credit note as a MOP must be assigned to the POS.

  3. Customer tagging is mandatory.

  4. The Credit Note has to be issued by the organization.

  5. The Credit Note to be adjusted should be valid.

Step-by-step guide

You can use a credit note in the following way:

  1. Create a POS bill..

  2. Then go to Payments (or press the F8 key). The Accept Payment window opens.

  3. Click on Credit Note Received option.

    Note: Initially Credit Note Received shows 0.

  4. Click on Adjust CR Note button. The Credit Note Lookup window opens.

  5. Select the required Credit Note from the list and click OK.

    Note: Credit Note Received has changed to the amount in the selected Credit Note.

  6. Now if you want to use another Credit Note, then click on Add CR Note button.

    Note: Below the Credit Note Received option, a Credit Note Received(Copy) is displayed now.

  7. Add another Credit Note in the similar way, if needed.

  8. If there is some amount left to be paid by the customer, then you may select one of the MOPs from the list to continue.

  9. Click on Save the bill button in the Accept Payment window.
