How To: Take payment using a Credit Note
Credit Notes are created against deposits or a return of an item by the customer. These are adjusted when a customer buys a product and wants to use his previously issued Credit Notes against his purchase.
Pre-requisites
- Document Numbering Scheme for Credit Notes must be present.
- Credit note as a MOP must be assigned to the POS.
- Customer tagging is mandatory.
- The Credit Note has to be issued by the organization.
- The Credit Note to be adjusted should be valid.
Step-by-step guide
You can use a credit note in the following way:
- Create a POS bill..
Then go to Payments (or press the F8 key). The Accept Payment window opens.
Click on Credit Note Received option.
Note: Initially Credit Note Received shows 0.
Click on Adjust CR Note button. The Credit Note Lookup window opens.
Select the required Credit Note from the list and click OK.
Note: Credit Note Received has changed to the amount in the selected Credit Note.
Now if you want to use another Credit Note, then click on Add CR Note button.
Note: Below the Credit Note Received option, a Credit Note Received(Copy) is displayed now.
- Add another Credit Note in the similar way, if needed.
- If there is some amount left to be paid by the customer, then you may select one of the MOPs from the list to continue.
- Click on Save the bill button in the Accept Payment window.
