FAQ - Changes in reports with Sales with Tax
Why do we need to change the Report terminology related with Sales in Ginesys?
Ans. After deep analysis, we have found that there are multiple reports which have conflicting terminologies with respect to Sales. Hence, we have decided to standardize the same for better understanding.
Which are the Reports that are impacted by these changes?
Ans. The following reports will benefit by the impact of the current changes. Please note that if there is any report customized at your end based on this Report or you have any custom Report prepared using the same data sources applied in these reports, those may be disrupted by these changes. However, any report based on Stock Book Summary Report is the main concern here.

What are the various terminology used for sales in Reports?
Ans. There are three types of sales identified in Ginesys:
All Online/E-commerce Sales are identified as ‘Retail - Online’.
All offline sales which has been sold from any POS site are called as ‘Retail - Offline’.
All such Online & Offline Retail sale is termed as ‘Retail Sale’
Any sales happened through Sales Invoice (from HO/ Back office) will be called as ‘Wholesale’.
Why are the Sales figures not matching with my previously downloaded reports?
Ans. There might be multiple reason behind the above situation. The major reasons related to current changes are highlighted below -
Earlier ‘Retail sale’ was showing inclusive of Tax whereas ‘Wholesale’ was excluding tax. Since, Sales does not have relevance with tax component now, the tax component has been removed from the Retail Sale also. Impacted Reports are all reports based on Stock Book Summary Cube, Consolidated Sales & Margin Analysis Report.
Earlier Online Sale from HO/Organization Site was showing under HO Sale (currently termed as Wholesale) columns which is now moved to Retail Sale column (as Online sale is Retail Sales only, it is not Wholesale component). Impacted Reports are all reports based on Stock Book Summary Cube and Consolidated Sales.
Why are the column names not matching with the earlier report of same name?
Ans. Column names have been changed in the report(s) based on Stock Book Summary Cube. The details are as follows.
Earlier Column Name | New Column Name |
POS (Offline-Settled) | Retail Offline (Settled) |
POS (Offline-Unsettled) | Retail Offline (Unsettled) |
POS (Offline-Total) | Retail Offline Total |
E-commerce (Online) | Retail Online |
HO Sale | Wholesale |
Total Sale | Total Net Sale |
Do the changes have impact in only Amount Columns or Quantity columns also?
Ans. Yes, the impact is relevant to Amount as well as Quantity columns.
What happens to the Consolidated Sale Detail & Consolidated Summary Report which were not matching?
Ans. It has been addressed in this changes. Earlier the difference was due to the Document Level Round off / or other charges. In the latest change in Detail report, we have introduced a new row for these changes so that both the report can match at overall.
Are there any changes regarding the columns named ‘POS Sale Tax Amount’ & ‘Unsettle POS Sale Tax Amount’?
Ans. Yes, since, these columns were creating confusion amongst users, they have been removed from the report though, it is available in data source -
03-Inventory > 01-Cube > Stock Book Summary | Column Name: SALE_TAX_AMOUNT, UNSETTLED_TAX_AMOUNT
If needed can be added on customized basis.
