Adding, Editing & Deleting POS User Role in Ginesys HO

A role is a set of rights and norms designed by an accredited person to access specific modules of  a particular system . It can be changed as per requirement of the system and its users. The user's role defines which particular modules of the POS are accessible for that particular user. POS User creation is mandatory for HO controlled POS sites. This article describes how to manage users' Role in Ginesys HO. 


 Add Users Role

Prerequisites

  1. The users' role must have access to the Role feature by enabling Add app operation for the feature through POS Manager - Security- Configure - Role.

Step-by-step guide

The steps are as follows:

  1. Go to POS Manager - Security - Configure - Role. 

  2. List of Roles module opens.

  3. Click on Add button.

  4. Role window will open.


  5. Put in the Role Name (Mandatory Field) and Description.

  6. Select the Modules to give access to this particular user in the Available Module section.

    Note: If you select the highest level of a module, then all the sub modules and forms of lower level of that module will be selected automatically.

  7. If you select the form level, you will get multiple app operations present in the Available Operation section.  

  8. Select the app operations you want to apply for the particular user.

  9. Click on Save & Close button.
 Edit Users Role

Prerequisites

  1. The users' role must have access to the Role feature by enabling Modify app operation for the feature through POS Manager - Security- Configure - Role.

Step-by-step guide

The steps are as follows:

  1. Go to POS Manager - Security - Configure - Role. 

  2. List of Roles module opens.

  3. Double click on a role you want to edit.

  4. The Role window will open and all the previously created settings will be populated automatically. 

  5. You can edit all the settings as per your requirement.

  6. Click on Save & Close button to save the edited data. 
 Delete User Role

Prerequisites

  1. The users' role must have access to the Role feature by enabling Delete app operation for the feature through POS Manager - Security- Configure - Role.

    Constraint on Delete operation

    Note: Role cannot be deleted once it is tagged to a User. However it can be made Extinct.

Step-by-step guide

The steps are as follows:

  1. Go to Desktop POS Manager- Security - Configure - Role. 

  2. List of Roles module opens.

  3. Select a role you want to delete.

  4. Click on Action > Delete.

  5. "Do you want to delete the selected role?" - this message will be displayed.


  6. If you click on Yes, then the role will be deleted permanently and you will get a message - "Record Deleted Successfully".
