How To: Print Barcode at Store

Generally barcode is printed in the HO and put on the items before they are delivered to the store. But for local purchases, of fresh produce or other products, stores print barcodes from the POS Back-Office > Store Control menu > Barcode Printing. This barcode can either be printed from a document or by selecting particular items.

Pre-requisites

In case of barcode printing from document, the document must be present.

In case of barcode printing by item selection the items master must be present.


Step-by-step guide

  1. Go to POS Back Office > Store Control (menu) > Barcode Printing (option).

  2. It opens the Barcode Printing window.
  3. Now since barcode can either be printed from a document or by selecting particular items, you choose which tab you are going to use - Search by Document and Search by Item Properties.
    1. Search by Document
      1. Search the concerned document -
        1. Select the date range
        2. Select the document type
        3. Select the Document
        4. Provide the MRP/RSP criteria of the item
        5. Select the Price as on date (enabled only if Multi Price option is selected as MRP/RSP criteria)
      2. Populate the items from the selected document.

        Note: Only those items from the document will be populated which fulfill the MRP/RSP criteria given.

      3. The items once populated will show their Barcode, Item Name, Division, Section, Department, MRP, RSP, Document No., Document Date, Transaction Rate and Print Quantity.

      4. If Multi Price mode is selected the items populated are displayed in colored fonts. Blue for those items were the user needs to select the applicable price from a popup and Violet where the item will take the last applicable price.

      5. Adjust the Print Quantity for all items (Change print quantity (for all items above)) to your required quantity of labels and remove any (Remove Items button) or all of the items(Clear All button) from this list as required.
      6. On clicking Print, the Barcode printer settings window opens.


        1. Select the printer.
        2. Select print method (Print by batch allows printing of the barcode of the items together; Print by row allows printing of one item for the given print quantity and then print the next item in the display.)

          If there are 3 items (A001, A002 and A003) populated for barcode printing and the print quantity is set to 2 for each, then -

        3.  Select the barcode control (.ctl) file.
        4. Click Print to print the barcodes.
    2. Search by Item Properties
      1. Set the MRP/RSP criteria.  
      2. Select the Price as on date (enabled only if Multi Price option is selected as MRP/RSP criteria).
      3. Now scan (Scan...) or select items (Select Item...) and populate (Populate) in the grid below.
      4. The items once populated will show their Barcode, Item Name, Division, Section, Department, MRP, RSP, Document No., Document Date, Transaction Rate and Print Quantity.
      5. If Multi Price mode is selected the items populated are displayed in colored fonts. Blue for those items were the user needs to select the applicable price from a popup and Violet where the item will take the last applicable price.
