Adding, Editing and Deleting User Profile

User Profile is a visual display of data associated with a specific user. Profile can be used to store the description of the characteristics of a person. In Ginesys the user profile stores the role and functionality of various forms and masters. This article describes how to Create, Edit, and Delete a User Profile in Ginesys.  

 

Prerequisites

  1. The Admin users' role must have access to the User Profile feature by enabling Add app operation for the feature through Ginesys Web - Admin - Security- User.

Step-by-step guide

The steps are as follows:

  1. Go to Ginesys Web - Admin - Security - User - User Profile. 

  2. User Profile module opens.

  3. Click on Add button.

  4. Add User Profile window will open. 

  5. Put in the User Profile Name (Mandatory Field).

  6. You will get five modules to give access to the user for specific activities of that modules.

    1. Inventory: In the Inventory module you will get Security, Item Category Creation, Article Attribute Creation and Other Settings sections.

       

      1. Security: In this section you can set Item related security by selecting the Security Policy one by one.

      2. Item Category Creation: In this section you can allow or restrict the users for selecting particular Category in time of creation of item. 

      3. Article Attribute Creation: In this section you can allow or restrict the users for selecting particular Attribute in time of creation of item. 

      4. Other Settings: In this section you can give permission to use the features like Negative Stock Alert, Miscellaneous Entry and Allow editing from transaction entry.



    2. Procurement: In the Procurement you will get Security, Account Posting and Other Settings sections.

       

      1. Security: In this section you can set Purchase related security by selecting the security policy one by one.

      2. Account Posting: In this section you can set Account related security by selecting the security policy one by one.

      3. Other Settings: In this section you can give permission to use the features like Margin Monitor Alert Method, Price Modification, Purchase Order Item etc.




    3. Sales & Distribution: In the Sales & Distribution module you will get Security, Account Posting and Other Settings sections.

       

      1. Security: In this section you can set Sales and Delivery related security by selecting the security policy one by one.

      2. Account Posting: In this section you can set Account related security by selecting the security policy one by one.

      3. Other Settings: In this section you can give permission to use the features like Margin Monitor Alert Method, Price Modification, Purchase Order Item etc.





    4. Finance: In the Finance module you will get Security section.


      1. Security: In this section you can set Finance related security by selecting the security policy one by one.




    5. Production: In the Production module you will get Security Settings and Other Settings.


      1. Security Settings: In this section you can set Production related security by selecting the security policy one by one. 

      2. Other Settings: In this section you can give permission to use the features like Allow selection of items without BoM definition, Job Order Limit Order Method etc.




  7. You can copy an existing user profile by clicking on Copy Values from existing User Profile. 

  8. Click on Save button to save the new user profile.

  1. The users' role must have access to the User Profile feature by enabling Modify app operation for the feature through Admin - Security- User.

Step-by-step guide

The steps are as follows:

  1. Go to Admin - Security - User - User Profile. 

  2. User Profile module opens.

  3. You will get the list of user profiles. 

  4. Select the profile you want to edit.

  5. Either double click on the profile you want to edit or go to Action > Edit.

  6. Edit User Profile window will open and all the records will be populated. 

  7. You can edit all the fields as per your requirement. 

  8. Click on Save button to save the modified data. 



Prerequisites

  1. The users' role must have access to the User Profile feature by enabling Delete app operation for the feature through Admin - Security- User.

Step-by-step guide

The steps are as follows:

  1. Go to Admin - Security - User - User Profile. 

  2. User Profile module opens.

  3. You will get the list of user profiles. 

  4. Select the profile you want to delete.

  5. Go to Action > Delete.

  6. "Are you sure you want to delete current Record?" - this message will be displayed. 

  7. If you click on Yes, then the role will be deleted permanently and you will get a message - "Record deleted successfully".










New User Profile named "Allow Component modification in Authorized Job Order" has been added from version 12.6.4 onwards.
