Managing the Report Templates in Ginesys

Each report has a definite template according to which it displays data. Ginesys allows its users to manage the templates for its reports. This article explains the way report templates are added, edited, and deleted in Ginesys.

Prerequisites

  1. The user’s role must have access to the Add app operation in the Report Template feature in Admin - Utilities - Manage Role through Admin - Security - User - Roles.

Step-by-step guide

The process is divided into the following steps:

  1. Go to Ginesys Web > Admin > Utilities > Manage > Report Template.

  2. Report Template module will open.

  3. Select module for which you wanted to create Report Template from the drop down list of Menu List.

  4. By click on the Add button you will get 3 options - Ginesys Report, RPT File (Crystal Report), REPX File (DevEx Report).

    1. Ginesys Report :


      1. Put in Title (Mandatory Field) and Display Name (Mandatory Field).

      2. Select Report from the drop down list.

      3. If you want to make this Report Template as Default and want Print Logo then tick the respective check box.

      4. you can also put in Description, Header, Footer.

      5. Once done, click on the Save button to save the Template.



    2. RPT File (Crystal Report) :

      1. Put in Title (Mandatory Field) and Display Name (Mandatory Field).

      2. Browse and select file for Report File. Only .rpt type files are allowed.

      3. You can also put in Description field and tick the Default field.

      4. Once done, click on Save button to save the Template.

    3. REPX File (DevEx Report) :


      1. Put in Title (Mandatory Field) and Display Name (Mandatory Field).

      2. Browse and select file for Report File. Only .repx type files are allowed.

      3. you can also put in Description, Header, Footer.

      4. If you want to make this Report Template as Default then tick the check box.

      5. Once done, click on Save button to save the Template.

  2. Report-Template must be created. 

Step-by-step guide

The process is divided in the following steps:

  1. Go to Ginesys Web > Admin > Utilities > Manage > Report Template.

  2. Report Template module will open.

  3. Select the module of which Report Template you want to edit.

  4. Previously created Report Template(s) will be listed here.

  5. Select the module you want to edit and click the Edit option on the top or you can double click on it.

  6. Edit the fields you wanted.

  7. Once done, click on the Save button.

  1. The users' role must have access to the Delete app operation in the Report Template feature in Admin - Utilities - Manage Role through Admin - Security - User - Roles.

  2. Report-Template must be created. 

Step-by-step guide

The process is divided in the following steps:

  1. Go to Ginesys Web > Admin > Utilities > Manage > Report Template.

  2. Report Template module will open.

  3. Select the module of which Report Template you want to delete.

  4. Previously created Report Template(s) will be listed here.

  5. Select the module you want to delete and click the Delete option on the top .

  6. A confirmation window will appear with the message - "Do you want to delete the selected report template?"

  7. If you select Yes, then a message - "Record Deleted Successfully" - will be displayed.
