What is Shadow Point?
Customers give the retailers their business and retailers give back a percentage of their spending as redeemable points to encourage them to stay loyal. Shadow Points exist as the reflection of a redemption transaction that has not been posted in the books yet. When a customer redeems a particular amount of points from his/her loyalty point collection, the amount of points redeemed affect the customers' card, but that point redemption does not get updated in the web unless synced from POS. In other words the reflection of the transaction is only available in that particular stores' database. If the same customer wants to redeem some more points from any other POS store before sync of the previous redemption is done; then that first point redemption will be displayed as Shadow Point at the time of customer tagging to the bill. During the second redemption, the points will be redeemed from the points left after deducting the Shadow Point.
After a sync cycle is run, from POS, the Shadow Point will become zero (0).
Pre-requisites
Customers should have the Loyalty Card with a point benefit.
