9508 Introduction of end user report designer in Ginesys POS

Enhancement Summary:

As part of the end user report design capability enablement drive, Ginesys Web Report was released a year back. Now with the release of Ginesys POS Report Designer, users are further enabled where they can design their Ginesys POS reports too which include POS Invoice/Bill, Gift Voucher, Delivery Slip, Credit/Debit Notes etc..

So far, for any change in POS report, the user would have to log a ticket with necessary detail and call Ginesys Support to get the changes done, often on a chargeable basis. The support team would then make necessary changes in the report and deliver the same to the customer. This cycle often takes more than a week to complete due to several reasons, like current ticket load at support, back and forth communications between user and support personnel etc.

Now with Ginesys POS Report Designer, users will no longer have to wait in the queue. They can create a new document report from the scratch or make necessary changes in any existing report. 

The report designing capability is built using one of the world's best reporting tools, DevExpress and will suffice the need for almost all users of Ginesys POS. Adequate documentations are being made available as below to get the users up and running fast -

Ginesys will conduct webinars and/or hands-on workshops on Ginesys POS reports soon. Users are requested to contact their account manager to register for training webinars. Feature videos will also be released soon.

Ginesys POS will eventually phase out Crystal Report based document reports and will be supporting only DevExpress based document reporting for Ginesys POS in some time. So users are requested to go through the documentation and work with the tool to understand the power and flexibility of end user reporting. 

Why DevExpress Report?

1. DevExpress report designer is a tool which will help to design a report by end user.
2. The report designer is not chargeable and is available to the end user free of cost.
3. No need to install any run-time/re-distributed for this.This reporting framework is based on .Net run-time.
4. Several printing issues found in Crystal run-time (13.20) are not expected to occur with this tool.
