24414 Group has now been transferred to Ginesys Web as part of the Item Hierarchy of the Inventory Module

Module:

GINESYS Web – Inventory – Product Definition – Item Hierarchy – Group 

Enhancement Summary:

Although there are no major functional changes, the UI has been made web compatible leading to a complete change in look and feel of the module.

The changes are: 

  • The product hierarchy structure can be seen in the list view itself.
  • There are no add/edit or other buttons, but all operations are executed by right clicking the node at the proper level. On right clicking the root, the option for creating a division is provided; but on right clicking the divisions the option is for creation of section and in section there is the provision for creating departments.
  • There are also options for expansion and collapse of data displayed.
  • Sequence in which the child groups appear can also be edited.
  • Properties of each group can also be edited similarly.

Important

Note: Child nodes automatically inherit all properties of the parent node in current state i.e. if any property of a parent node is modified after the creation of a child node, then that modification will not be automatically reflected in the existing child node but any child node created after the modification will inherit the modified properties.

Enhancement Summary:

Although there are no major functional changes, the UI has been made web compatible leading to a complete change in look and feel of the module.

The changes are: 

  • The entire article list can be seen from the list view itself.
  • Now creation, modification and management of articles can be done through the same window, depending on app operation privileges.
  • The information captured during Article creation and modification has been segmented to provide more clarity and mandatory fields are marked with asterisk.
  • The earlier Modify / Manage Article feature has been placed under the Manage button of the Action Menu and can be enabled through proper app operation privileges.
  • Global changes in the articles can also be done in the same location, through selecting Articles and clicking on Manage in the Action button. The Manage Article window captures all relevant modifications and updates all the articles together if the selection conditions are adequately met.

Enhancement Summary:

The changes are:

  • The entire item list can be seen from the list view itself.
  • Now creation, modification and management of items can be done through the same window, depending on app operation privileges.
  • The information captured during Item creation and modification has been segmented to provide more clarity and mandatory fields are marked with asterisk.
  • The tab based structure has been removed and a scroll bar provided so that you can view all the details at the same time.
  • The  images  for items  in  Ginesys  Desktop  were  found  in  

\GINESYS12\Shared\Application\Extras\Images

Now item images for web will be found in

\GINESYS12\Shared\ItemImage 

  • Earlier F7 button allowed to create Categories while creating items. Now in the Add Item window, you can type the Category name in the Category field of your preference (Category 1-6) and click on the Add button on the lower right hand of the drop-down to add the Category to the Category Master. In case the new category is similar to an existing category; it will show a message for matched records existing. User can either select from the matched records or click on the Add Anyway? button to add the new category. For more details click here.

Important

Note: Import Excel and image capture cannot be done for creation of items in the new web module at the moment. However, images can still be captured in Ginesys Desktop as before and will be available in the path given above.

Important

Known Issue: To view images captured from desktop to web application, images are required to copied from old path to new path. Migration of Image master in future release will resolve this issue.

The images of item in Ginesys Desktop need to be manually copied and pasted from \GINESYS12\Shared\Application\Extras\Images to \GINESYS12\Shared\ItemImage

28938 Category master has now been transferred to Ginesys Web as part of the Setup of the Inventory Module

Module:

GINESYS Web – Inventory – Product Definition – Setup – Category 

Enhancement Summary:

Although there are no major functional changes, the UI has been made web compatible leading to a complete change in look and feel of the module.

The changes are:

  • Instead of searching the Category type (Category 1, Category 2) and adding or modifying the Category Names; the Category types will now be arranged in tabs and the list of Category Names belonging to each type will be visible in the respective tabs.
  • Now number of items defined by a particular category is displayed along with the name of the corresponding category in the list view of Category master.
  • The functionality of the Category Manager is now taken over by the Merge option in the Action menu.

Enhancement Summary:

Although there are no major functional changes, the UI has been made web compatible leading to a complete change in look and feel of the module.

The changes are:

  • Instead of searching the Attribute type (Attribute 1, Attribute 2) and adding or modifying the Attribute Names; the Attribute types will now be arranged in tabs and the list of Attribute Names belonging to each type will be visible in the respective tabs.
  • Now number of Articles defined by a particular Attribute is displayed along with the name of the corresponding Attribute in the list view of Attribute master.
  • The functionality of the Attribute Manager is now taken over by the Merge option in the Action menu and can be enabled through app operation privilege.

Enhancement Summary:

Formerly the feature was part of the Inventory module and has now been moved to Retail Management in Ginesys Web.

Although there are no major functional changes, the UI has been made web compatible leading to a change in look and feel of the module.

Item wise site or Site wise item selection has been removed to simplify the allocation process. Now the assortment of items can be selected and allocated by selecting single or multiple sites only.

 Along with that, it is now possible, to provide Markup or Markdown on RSP and MRP of items with provision for round-off in specified multiples.
