In large warehouses, it is sometimes difficult to locate a particular bin and this in turn affects the warehouse productivity. Ginesys is now ready to offer a hierarchical system for bin identification and location. Users would not need to depend on experience for the same.

It will provide the following advantages  -

  1. Easier and faster location of each bin can be ascertained from the system.
  2. Bin reports can now be checked hierarchy wise.
  3. Reservation can be done Bin Group wise for specific channel wise reservation as now Bin Group along with Bin Name can used as selection criterion for bins while doing stock reservations.
  4. Pick List can be broken up based on Bin Group for more efficient picking.

21540 WMS: Allowance of partial reservation & Bin Group filter introduction in Reservation

Feature Video:

Module(s):

Ginesys Web - Inventory - WMS - Stock Reservation

Partial reservation summary:

Previously, the system restricted the user from making any reservation if the entire order's stock was not available in the system. But now, Ginesys has provided an option while doing stock reservation, i.e., user can now select "Reserve Partially" which will reserve the available stock against the order.

Suppose a Sales or Transfer Order is for 100 quantity of an item, but there is stock for only 60 quantity of the same - now partial stock reservation allows reserving that stock for the above mentioned order.

Bin Group wise Reservation summary:

Similar to Bin Name filter while doing reservation, Ginesys has now introduced Bin Group filter which will allow the user to reserve an order against specific bins only under a group. This is mainly used by those who maintain channel wise stock.

For more details or to understand the working of these functionalities, please refer to the feature video.

22657 WMS: Option for multiple pick list generation at one go introduced

Feature Video:

Module(s):

Ginesys Web - Inventory - WMS - Pick List

Enhancement Summary:

The user can make an informed decision based the following options:

  • Grouping Logic can be selected whether you need a single pick list or the pick list should be as per follows -
    • Consolidated Pick List - For all the selected reservations, a single pick list shall be generated, even if 10 reservations are selected, 1 pick list shall be generated.
    • Reservation wise - For all the selected reservations, respective pick lists shall be generated, i.e., if 10 reservations are selected, 10 pick lists shall be generated.
    • Site wise - For all selected reservations, the system will identify the unique destination sites and break the pick lists accordingly.
  • Segregate Pick List based on Bin Group Level - You can segregate the pick list based on the bin group levels set by you. This will help you to increase the number of pickers. Also, if you have multi-floor warehouse, then this is very useful as floor wise there are different pickers.

For working details, please refer to the feature video above.

22496 WMS: Capacity and Assortment tagging has been introduced for Bins

Feature Video:

Module(s):

Inventory - WMS - Setup - Bin Master
Inventory - WMS - Setup - Bin Assortment

Enhancement Summary:

Bins created in warehouse management system of Ginesys can now be assigned specific assortments and quantity.

Due to incorrect management of warehouse systems, often bins are either overloaded or their capacity is underutilized. Sometimes it also affects the productivity of the packing and delivery cycles as picking of deliverables take a lot of time. Ginesys, with this update, allows to define assortments tagged to bins. This feature ensures that warehouse users can easily identify products in each bin by placing correct products in each bin and bin space is also used optimally. This also helps in understanding the free capacity of the warehouse.

Also, two new user profiles have been added to allow overriding the incorrect item and quantity assignment to the bins -

  • Allow to put items in bins other than tagged assortment
  • Allow to put items in bins more than the defined capacity

For more details, please refer to the feature video above in which the process of definition is also shown.

22672 WMS: New Android App for basic WMS operations has been enabled in Ginesys

Feature Video:

Module:

Ginesys WMS (Android Application)

Enhancement Summary:

A new hand-held device based android app for Warehouse Management System has been launched by Ginesys. This allows the users more mobility leading to faster and more efficient and productive warehouse management. Pickers can now directly scan items on lists assigned to them, instead of manually collecting items from the bin and  bringing them to a static machine to confirm the pick list action.

The application can only be used through a separate hand-held device and can do the following actions:

  1. Put Away
  2. Take Away
  3. Confirm Pick List
  4. Bin Count

The android menu has to be assigned to the user's role before it can be used (Admin -  Security - Role - Inventory - WMS - Android Application).

The configuration of the device needs to be done at the time of installation and then the device can be used to scan a bin, scan items to and from the bin and confirm pick lists of items to be delivered.
